Building Floats & A New Business – February Goal Recap

Each month I share my goals as a way to motivate myself to get things done and stay accountable. I hope to inspire you to set goals as well. Last month I shared how bad I am at saving money, so I decided to get smarter about doing it. I changed my direct deposit allocations so that money goes directly into my savings account every pay period vs. me having to withdraw from one bank account and deposit in another. Now the money is out of sight, out of mind and out of my pocket to spend as soon as I get paid. I hope eventually saving money will become more natural to me, but for right now I have a love/hate relationship with saving. I hate saving, but love to see the money sitting in my account. In the…

I Suck at Saving Money, But I’m Gonna Do Better This Month

So we’re almost halfway through the month when I realized that I forgot to post my goals for the month. This post has actually been written since the 3rd, but my work schedule has been so busy. And when I finally get home from work in the evenings either even up having to continue working another couple hours or I don’t even want to touch another computer until the next day. And here we are, on the thirteenth of the month. Just reviewing my goals for the month. #dontjudgeme Let’s just get into my recap of January’s goals below. Finish My Vision Board I gave myself the entire month to finish my vision board because I was lacking the images I needed to complete the board. I asked friends for magazines and even attempted to purchase magazines before I realized…

How to Disinfect Your Hotel Room

Traveling makes us susceptible to all kinds of germs, whether it’s at the airport, on the plane, in our taxi and especially in our hotel rooms. A survey done several years ago found that 81% of hotel room surfaces tested held at least some fecal matter. DISGUSTING; but when you think about it, hard surfaces are what people touch the most, whether it’s the handles of doors, the drink tray on a plane or the remote in a hotel room. If you want to know which surfaces in a hotel room are the most bacteria-laden, you can read this article. I am already somewhat of a germaphobe while traveling, so with the continued spread of the coronavirus, I am taking extra precautions. Here are some tips on how you can disinfect your hotel room while traveling: 1. Pack travel-size cleaning…

My Goals for January 2020

Did you read my earlier post on the major L I took setting big goals before my fortieth birthday? I set a LOT of goals and probably only accomplished 25% of them. So if it’s one thing I’ve learned when it comes to goals, it’s keeping it simple and keeping it realistic.  I am really trying to take on the whole “new year, new me” attitude in various avenues of my life. Finish My Vision Board I attended a vision board party right after the new year but did not get a chance to complete the board. Never did I think it would be so hard to complete the board. I don’t subscribe to any magazines. My roommate throws all of hers away. My co-workers didn’t have any. This past weekend, I figured I would just run to the…
