I like bacon just as much as everyone else.  Just the smell of bacon gets me excited and my mouth-watering. However, I thought the phrase “Bacon Makes Everything Better” couldn’t really apply to EVERYTHING. But, I was WRONG.

A friend tagged me in a picture online for Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies and I was instantly intrigued. So I decided to whip up my own recipe for the cookies and the rest is history.

WARNING: These cookies are highly addictive. If you love the combination of sweet and salty flavors, you will love these cookies.

Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies
Course: Dessert
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup salted butter, softened (2 sticks)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 8 pieces of bacon, cooked to desired crispiness and crumbled (drain on a paper towel after cooking)
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350° F. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl.

  2. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in another large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time.

  3. Gradually beat wet mixture into the dry flour mixture. Then stir in morsels and bacon.

  4. Form balls into desired size and place on ungreased baking sheet.  Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.

  5. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, then remove to wire racks or plate to cool completely.

So let me know if you’ve ever had bacon chocolate chip cookies before. If not, would you try them?
