Life of an Event Planner pt. 4

Today, I am finishing up the recap of my nine days in California and my behind-the-scenes look at event planning.  You can catch Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 of the recap on the blog or select the “Event Planner” highlight story in my Instagram bio.  Now let’s get started with day 8, the last day of the convention. This day generally is an easy-going day. Day 8 – Thursday, September 27 Thankfully, I get to sleep in again this day, at least until 6 a.m. I hopped out of bed, took a shower and then hopped back in bed. Finally, I roused up enough energy to get dressed and made it to our 7 a.m. breakfast. Today, I choose to wear something that I hardly EVER wear, but I think it’s important for every professional woman to have at least one in their closet. What is it? A suit! In the past, I’ve…

Life of An Event Planner Pt. 3

I’m recapping my nine days in California and giving you a behind-the-scenes look at event planning.  You can catch Part 1 and Part 2 of the recap on the blog or select the “Event Planner” highlight story in my Instagram bio.  Now let’s get started with day 7. It’s the second day of the convention and finally, I can sleep in. And by sleeping in, I mean sleeping until 6:00 am. Here’s how the day went. Day 7 – Wednesday, September 26 7:00 am is the scheduled morning meeting for with my co-workers and after breakfast, I head down to the Expo floor.  I do another drive-around with signs placing some pull-up banners around the expo floor. The doors open to the Expo at 9:00 am and the day moves along pretty smoothly. I choose this super stylish Tie Neck Ruffled Hem Mini Dress from Eloquii for the second day of…

Life of An Event Planner pt. 2

Did you miss part 1 of my recap in Anaheim? You can read all about it here.  When packing for this trip to Anaheim, I knew right away I was going to bring #allThingsEloquii for my outfits during the show. Eloquii is always my go-to for business trips and events because not only is their clothing great for the professional woman, but it’s stylish and fun as well. And since this was my first time running the Expo floor all by myself, I wanted to look the part of a Trade Show Manager. Here’s how day six went: Day 6 – Tuesday, September 25 Today is opening day for the convention, but before we can get to that, first up is the 5K. I wake up at 4:00 am this day, to be downstairs by 4:45 am. I finally meet Ryan, my Race Director for the first time. Ryan and I spent…

Life of an Event Planner Pt. 1

I spent the last nine days of September in California for my company’s annual convention and if you followed along on InstaStories, you got to see Behind-the-Scenes of the Expo.  As a Trade Show Manager, my job was to manage our huge expo floor that consisted of over 750 exhibitors from around the world in over 300,00 square feet of space. It’s a massive job, but thankfully I worked with a great team who supported me and were my eyes and ears because it was impossible to be in more than one place at a time. If you missed the InstaStories, you’re in luck because I will be doing a quick recap of the whole event here on the blog for the next three days. In addition to giving you a behind-the-scenes of my days at the show, I will also be showing you my lovely outfits for the show. …

38 Life Lessons I’ve Learned in 38 Years

Every year, when I know my birthday is near, I start this period of self-reflection. I think about my accomplishments or lack thereof and what my future will be like. In addition to my self-reflection, I also like to think about the lessons I’ve learned along the way and in the past year. It usually takes me some time to come up with this list, because the older I get, the longer the list gets. LOL I literally started this list back in early December and just finished it last night. So, here’s the knowledge I am dropping on you this year, my 38 life lessons that I’ve learned in 38 years. 1.P.U.S.H. Pray until something happens. Prayer is STILL essential in my life, but I have truly learned that even when things don’t happen when YOU want them to happen, keep on praying. 2. Humility is everything. 3. Step…
