I’m recapping my nine days in California and giving you a behind-the-scenes look at event planning. You can catch Part 1 and Part 2 of the recap on the blog or select the “Event Planner” highlight story in my Instagram bio. Now let’s get started with day 7. It’s the second day of the convention and finally, I can sleep in. And by sleeping in, I mean sleeping until 6:00 am. Here’s how the day went.
Day 7 – Wednesday, September 26
7:00 am is the scheduled morning meeting for with my co-workers and after breakfast, I head down to the Expo floor. I do another drive-around with signs placing some pull-up banners around the expo floor. The doors open to the Expo at 9:00 am and the day moves along pretty smoothly. I choose this super stylish Tie Neck Ruffled Hem Mini Dress from Eloquii for the second day of the convention.
I can’t say enough great things about this dress. It’s comfy and the sleeves are roomy, which is important for someone like me with fat arms. The fabric is lightweight, so even though I was running around the show floor, the fabric was breathable and cool. For photo shoot purposes, I paired the dress with my nude pumps, but on show site, I NEVER wear heels, so I wore some blue lace Mary Janes. The great thing about the dress is that there are 3 other colors to play with in the dress, so the options for shoes and accessories are endless.
Thankfully since it was the second day of the convention, there weren’t too many fires to put out, but it was still a busy day.
We had a Happy Hour in the Expo Hall, along with a Tweet Up for influencers and a couple other receptions on the show floor. I attended the reception in the VIP Lounge because I had personally ordered the food and knew the drinks would be flowing.
After the Hall closed, I left and went back to my room. I was too tired to leave the hotel, so I wound up in my girl Glenda’s room with a bunch of my other co-workers. We ordered room service, sipped drinks and played Heads Up. By the end of the nig,ht it turned into a full-blown party in her room because all of my co-workers who had gone out to earlier that night ended up in her room as well. The night was full of laughs and the perfect way to end day seven in California.
Stay tuned for the day eight and the last day of the convention tomorrow. Tomorrow I am wearing something I RARELY ever wear, but I promise after wearing Eloquii’s version of it, it won’t be the last time I wear it. Can you guess what it is?
