Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

  • 1 1/3 cup flour
  • 2-3 ripened bananas
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (or 2% Greek yogurt)


  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F and grease your loaf pan.

  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the butter and sugars for 2-3 minutes.

    Add in the mashed bananas followed by the eggs, yogurt (or sour cream) and vanilla.

  4. After you've mixed all the wet ingredients, fold in the dry ingredients. Then add in the chocolate chips.

  5. Pour the batter into the loaf pan and top with any leftover chocolate chips.

    Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean (with the exception of a few moist crumbs).

  6. Let it cool, then store in an air-tight container.
